The Mantis Shrimp's second pair of claws are the fastest in the world, with an acceleration of 20m/s, or as fast as a .22 bullet shot from a handgun!
The Mantis Shrimp fires so fast that it creates a vapour-filled bubble, and when this bubble collapses, it gives a force of 1,500N.
The Mantis Shrimp's eyes are made to move in all 3 dimensions, without any effect on their perspective.[2] Each eye is made of thousands of tiny cells called Ommatidium, which are tiny cluster-like photoreceptors. Each eye consists of two flattened hemispheres seperated by specialized Ommatidium called the Midband. Compared to humans, Mantis Shrimps have only about 12-16 photoreceptors in each eye.
